The bad thing about mistletoe is that it results in the father of one of your pupils asking for a kiss despite being married. Thankfully I was able to convince him to wait until his wife got home, otherwise we both would've been in a bit of trouble. The good thing about mistletoe is that so far I've managed to avoid getting stuck with any and by the sound of it, I should be hoping that's the way it stays. For something that's meant to be festive it sounds rather annoying.

Some how, one of my pupil's little brother's managed to borrow my journal from my bag without me noticing last time I was there. I didn't really realise I was missing it until a few days ago and then it was returned to me yesterday so I didn't miss it too much but I should probably learn to not leave my bag open in places so accessible by children.

Sadly enough, a week in the  possession of a child didn't result in a drawing in my journal, which is quite disappointing. What happened to children who drew on anything and everything?

Some people are so nice!

Today, the mother of the child I teach on Tuesday's came home with a whole heap of muffins. Apparently they were half price and she's and impulse buyer who can never resist a good sale. There's almost never a week where she dosen't come home with something that she found at 'an amazing price!'. After buying the muffins she remembered she'd started some new diet to ensure that she could still fit into all the sale items she buys and so gave me half a dozen.

I ate one when I got home and it was delicious. Looks like my breakfast will be very tasty for the next few days.

It's funny when you see the muggle children come to the door dressed as witches with their pointy hats and big noses with warts and funny  socks and whatever else they wear because we don't really look like that. Well, most of us don't anyway.

Anyway, how did the Halloween Ball go? I decided not to go because I always feel bad if I'm not home to hand out lollies to everyone.  I suppose I could've gone to the party after the trick or treating was done but I couldn't decide on a costume so I just stayed at home. I hope you all had a good time though.

I love all the drawings that keep appearing in the journals. They're so cute! It makes me want to give my journal to a student and ask them to draw a picture for me. But somehow I don't think the parents would like that all too much and I don't think I can pass it off as educational. So it looks like I'll have to live without a pretty drawing. I've got plenty stuck around my house, at least.

Talking about students, I met a new one the other day and she's quite funny. She's sort of obsessed with herself and wouldn't stop looking into the mirror while I was talking to her mother. Which meant the mirror kept talking which got rather annoying. The mum eventually asked her to stop looking in the mirror. So she found something else shiny and admired her reflection in that. i was amazed by how long someone could enjoy looking at themselves! It's sort of weird. But she's a nice kid otherwise which is good. And at least the job is never boring.

Thanks to everyone who came to my party last week! I hope you all had a good time (and that you were all okay for work the next day!). Especially big thanks to Hannah for letting my use the Leaky and to Stephen for introducing me to the sexy Spaniard. I'm not letting you have him without a fight now!

I'd better not get sick before my birthday.

September is the best month of the year, don't you think? Autumn's so pretty. I love the way the leaves look. Course, the trees in my back yard are only just starting to turn orange but soon they'll all look lovely. Plus, a squirrel came and visited the garden today! It was so cute. Oscar wanted to chase it so I had to lock him inside which he wasn't too happy about. It'd be cool if you could keep squirrels as pets although I don't think they'd be very friendly, which is a shame.
